People actually wanting to find out what some good books are, probably won't
get this far, because of all the off-topic crap being posted. *However*, if
they have, I'd recommend `A Book on C' by Al Kelley and Ira Pohl for learning
C (1st Ed = K&R C, 2nd Ed = ANSI C, both still in print), and once you've
worked through that, `C++ for C programmers' by Ira Pohl.

They're both reallt good - at least, they suit my brain perfectly. :-)
