Michael, I have an ATI GX 2MB running OS/2 Warp with the ATI 1.54 drivers and at
a 1280x1024x256 setting.  BSD 2.0.5 also runs fine... so it can be done.  It may have
something to do with your power-on default settings.  The actual display (which I
don't think makes any difference) is a Gateway Crystal Scan 1572FS.  Do you have
some "green" thing going off?
