You're right, I looked at the dos again also and then corrected my
resolv.conf file. It's been a while. Regardless, the gethostbyname()
fails when it cannot lookup the host name and if you have no
nameserver configured then you need to look at the hosts file
first. This fixed the problem on my machine.
