Keywords: bpf, scheduler

we have developed an application for network-monitoring, using the bpf.
With bsdi, we can moitor ca. 6000 packets without packetloss on a
486/66mhz-eisa.

Using FreeBSD 2.0.5 , the packet-loss starts at very light load
(ca. 500Packets/s).
Without the update-process (Process #4), the loss starts at 3000 P/s,
even on a P90/PCI.
what's going wrong?
is it the scheduler, the drivers?

Thanx in advance
