Jordan, if you are within line of sight of WC CDROM I suggest that you
look into a spread spectrum setup. You can get them for about $1400 for
a pair and they can go at least 2megabits/sec. The price could be steep
but once you are setup, I am afraid that you will have to pay for
your connect time in terms of how much electricity the adapters 
drain on each end --- I tell you folks nothing is free !!
