Update to the latest version from ports. The problem you're
describing became known shortly after 2.0.5 has been shipping, and the
current port contains a version that does not experience this problem.

The remote command code in FreeBSD 2.0.5 didn't ignore "comment" lines
in the sample /etc/hosts.equiv file as it ought to be. This has been
fixed since. Remove /etc/hosts.equiv, and this problem will go away.
