Wow! Two different systems! That's a lot of experience, I'm curious though,
were those FreeBSD systems? Be honest...

What's your point? You're splitting hairs, and I have no interest in
rehashing old ground. Have you beat this useless tangent to death,
yet?

No. They were not FreeBSD systems. Who cares?! NetBSD uses the
exact same NCR driver as FreeBSD. The experience applies adequately.

Plus, in addition to two PCI NetBSD systems, I and others around me,
use literally hundreds of NCR PCI systems running Windows NT and
Windows 95, many with multiple drives (and multiple devices). They
all work very nicely -- I have no reservations about recommending NCR
PCI SCSI controllers.

Do I need a doctorate in PCI SCSI or something? What is adequate
experience in your book? Do you have an exam I can pass to satisfy
you? Gosh, I only run EISA at home -- dunno if I'll EVER be able to
figure out that tricky PCI stuff...

Most competent MBs have the ncr bios in ROM.

Your point?

Head Candy . Com == MicroSoft makes sense, eh?

Gee, the God-Master of PCI SCSI can't even figure out Internet
domains... Here, let me help you:

[michaelv@MindBender]~> whois HeadCandy.com
Head Candy Associates (HEADCANDY-DOM)
2013 Sunset Dr. <== Needs to be updated but the NIC is
Ames, IA 50014 <== very busy with more important matters

   Domain Name: HEADCANDY.COM

Administrative Contact, Technical Contact, Zone Contact:
VanLoon, Michael [Software Design Engineer] (MV14) michaelv@HEADCANDY.COM
      (206) 562-3735 (206) 936-5106 (FAX) (206) 562-8214  <== accurate

Hmmm... Ya know, that almost looks like a personal domain... And,
golly, I don't see Microsoft anywhere in there.

Let me spell it out so you can stop wondering: I work at Microsoft.
When I write work-related mail, it comes from mvanloon@wspu.microsoft.com.
I run a small net of machines at home, most NetBSD. When I send mail
from home, it comes from michaelv@HeadCandy.com. They are not
related. In *any* way. Get over it.

   try sending mail to HeadCandy.com

Have you tried? Are you just plain stupid, or are you trying really
hard just for me?

Once again, let me help:

Since you probably won't be able to figure it out, that means mail
systems addressing mail to HeadCandy.com are supposed to try
MindBender.seanet.com first, then mx.seanet.com, if that fails
(i.e. I'm off the net). Mx.seanet.com holds the mail for me until I
reconnect, then sends it to MindBender.seanet.com (me), since I'm
listed as the primary destination. To clarify:

For your information, yes, I get hundreds of mail messages addressed
to HeadCandy.com every week, thank you. It works quite well. There's
really no need for you to be concerned, though it's quite touching.

Are you done making pointless tangents out of inane details, yet? I'm
sure there's something more substantial we could be spending our time
discussing.
