Isn't another rationale that filesystems usually work best when not full=20
to the brim (modern ones at least; an old clunky System V filesystems=20
doesn't really care whether it's half empty or half full :-) )? Users=20
should not fill up the filesystem to the point where the in-core=20
optimization code isn't able to optimize anything anymore because it ran=20
out of headroom.

Or so I've heard.
