I had the same problem when I installed XView.  Fortunately, I use xterm but
it is annoying since other text-based programs besides cmdtool want that
text_extras_menu.  As soon as 2.1.0 comes out and gives me an excuse to
reinstall my system, I'm going to reinstall XView into the /usr/openwin
directory (like it is on Linux) and keep it separated from the regular XFree86
stuff, then have another look at the .text_extras_menu problem.
