|OK, OK, I give up! I'll be the first to ask! What the heck does this crazy
|signature mean, anyway? I've been staring at it for months with absolutely no
|idea! :-)

First of all:

ma.nom.e.ter \m*-'na:m-*t-*r\ \.man-*-'me-trik\ \-tri-k*l\ \-k(*-)le-\ n [F
manome'tre, fr. Gk manos sparse, loose, rare + F -me'tre - more at MONK] 1:
an instrument for measuring the pressure of gases and vapors : PRESSURE
   GAUGE 2: SPHYGMOMANOMETER - mano.met.ric aj

(BTW, is there a webster port for FreeBSD?)

Now the scales on manometers are different, so you can not say it is high or
low when it points to where the short arrow points at 2 o'clock. The joke
is about one who looks at the manometer, thinking it's a clock. Period...
Sorry, will try something better understandable by the international commu-
nity :-)
