Well, there are people who will be happy to 
provide you with Bonnie benchmark results 
obtained on systems using the NCR and a 4GB 
drive. 

So I guess it's not impossible ... :)

But how about telling us, which version of
FreeBSD you are using and what kind of 4GB 
drive ?

And what error messages do you get ?

Yes. Send some info about your system and
about how things fail.
