I've just installed FreeBSD 2.0.5R, including XFree86 3.1.1u1.
During the installation I got an error message that gzip
encountered a CRC error in X311man.tgz. After re-downloading the
offending file I tried 'gzip -t' to test its integrity and got a
CRC error again.

I don't know whether this is specific to the FreeBSD binary
distribution of XFree86 3.1.1.
