Moore) Newsgroups: comp.unix.bsd.freebsd.misc Subject: Installation help needed Date: Sun, 03 Sep 1995 02:51:31 GMT Organization: Best Internet Communications Lines: 21 Message-ID: <42b59s$13s@shellx.best.com> NNTP-Posting-Host: slm.vip.best.com X-Newsreader: Forte Free Agent 1.0.82 I can't get install to start at all :( am trying to install FreeBsd 2.0.5 from cd and have no problem starting view and creating a boot floppy but when i try to boot it just goes into an endless cycle of system reboots :( rawrite reports 1 bad sector no matter what disk i use or what boot.flp i use - have tried the upgrade ver I have a 486dx266 with 20 meg ram, promise 4030 ide cache controller with 4 meg, ati mach32 ultrapro video, 340mb and 1gb wd drives and the other usual stuff. anyone have any insight on this problem ? I have successfully installed slackware linux on this system in the past. I have win 95 installed now. Thanks in advance Steve Moore - slm@best.com
