This is all beginning to get extrememly frustrating. I have the 2.0.5R
cd-rom, and copied what I want to install the c:\freebsd etc, the
floppies too. I can get through the whole installation menu fine, but
when it starts to install everything, it stops after a few seconds with
this error:

Failed to load the ROOT distribution. Please correct this problem and try
again.

When I check the debug screen, it has the following three things.

mountmsdosfs(): root directory is not a multiple of the clustersize in
length.

gunzip: stdin: invalid compressed data--format violated.
/stand/cpio premature end of file

I am positive I have the root disks in the proper place on my hard drive,
as I have them in C:\, \freebsd\floppies\, \freebsd, and \floppies. :)

It seems to me it is having some sort of problem mounting the dos
partition, but I sure am stumped as how to fix this (I have only
installed linux before, so be gentle.)
