You didn't read what I said, or else misunderstood it.

I was referring to _free_ documentation,
in particular to the Linux Documentation Project (LDP),
eg ftp://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/docs/LDP
(This is included in all Linux CD-ROMs I have seen.
I think it is also included in the Slackware distribution,
probably in diskettes 'y'.)

You will find there half a dozen books, each
several hundred pages long, in LaTeX.
They are excellent.
Eg "Linux Installation and Getting Started",
"Linux Network Administrators Guide",
"Linux Users Guide",
"Linux Kernel Hackers Guide".

By contrast, I found the "FreeBSD Handbook"
quite difficult to dig out of the BSD archives,
and not nearly as good as the above books.

Let me repeat: I am not trying to start a Linux-FreeBSD war.
The world is big enough for Mozart and Beethoven.
I believe that FreeBSD would do much better
if it looked to its _free_ documentation.
