Well having heard some opinions about the new newsgroup project, I think I
can distill the lines being put forth as:

Position 1: No change, stay in comp.unix.bsd

Position 2: Create a single newsgroup, comp.os.386bsd or freebsd

Position 3: Create three newsgroups (that was my position) with
            comp.os.386bsd.misc
            comp.os.386bsd.install
            comp.os.386bsd.development

Position 4: Create seven newsgroups (L. Jolitz's position) with
            comp.os.386bsd
            comp.os.386bsd.kernel
            comp.os.386bsd.windows
            comp.os.386bsd.sharedlib
            comp.os.386bsd.net
            comp.os.386bsd.bugs
            comp.os.386bsd.ann or announce

Did I fail to represent anyone who has posted in this thread so far?

I would like to get a feel for what sort of support each of these
positions has. Please either follow up or email me.
