Since we're on the topic...

I switched to pcvt because I need a more vt100ish console than syscons
offers, and because I experienced some strange behavior while using X
with syscons. Frequently while in XF86_S3 3.1.2, a modifier key would
get "stuck" so that any other key I pressed was controlled or
alted. Maybe it has something to do with my Focus9000 keyboard (other
than mechanical difficulties, which I ruled out).

I no longer see stuck modifiers with pcvt, so that's a step forward.
The terminal emulation is now for all intents true to the VT100, which
is definitely a big step forward.

HOWEVER, there are a few features I'd like to see. Call me a
perfectionist.

  a) More powerful keyboard remapping. Under Linux, I could make
Alt-F1 switch to my first VT, Caps Lock a control key, and
shift-numlock set the caps lock. With pcvt, I had to modify the
source to set the VT-switching keys. With the current keycap
format, only one of those things is possible: making the capslock
     act like control).

  b) Scrollback history. syscons does this very nicely.

  c) Bold. I understand that the intensity bit has been stolen for
character set selection, but I don't *need* alternate character
set. Can't I take it back?

  d) Proper display of VT100 line graphics sequences. I just get
gibberish on the screen. The Linux console does it well, and the
syscons driver does it okay under screen, but pcvt doesn't seem
to do it at all. Even if it's possible with the right termcap
settings, many of the devices I talk to don't have termcaps...

Are any of these things in the works? Does anybody else want these?

Thanks,
