I am having trouble with enabling dialup into my host.

I have a 386SX-16 with 8MB ram, 540MB hard disk and 2 16550 serial ports,
and USR v.32, yeah 9600 baud, modem on ttyd0 running FreeBSD 2.0.5 installed
from Walnut Creek CD

I read the web page, and did the following

added rc.serial enable modem for 0 and adjusted speed for 38400. That's the
highest baud rate the modem will support.

I modified ttys for ttyd0 on and dialup type, and am using V38400 from
gettytab.

I modified my gettytab like the www page suggested:

tt|V38400|High Speed modem at 3840,8-bit:\
	:nx=V19200:tc=38400-baud:
with similiar lines for the rest of the speeds for 300, 1200, 2400, 4800,
9600, 19200.

I used tip to setup the modem for &k3 .... as in the www page.

I rebooted the computer to have all the changes take effect just to be sure.

I did an stty -a and the device reports 38400, I connect to the host, and I
do an stty -a and it reports 2400 speed, so something is changing the speed
somewhere that I havn't touched yet.

It is almost like the modem is waiting in 2400 baud, not high speed, because
my connections on the dial in system start handshaking at 2400, even though
the same setup will handshake into everybody else at v.32 speeds.

      Any ideas???

Thanks in advance,

Michael Peer
