OK. I got a couple of dump options that I am using with my
DAT ( 4mm ) SCSI tape. What I would like to do is stack multiple
dumps on the same tape. It initially *appears* as though dump
is causeing the tape to rewind prior to doing any writes, no
matter what device I use. I have used /dev/rst0 and /dev/nrst0.
I have also tried to mt rew, then fsf 1/2 to EOT, then do the
next dump. No matter what I have tried, after the dumps, I
do a rewind and a restore -i and I always have the last dump
performed on the front of the tape.

HELP!?!?!?!

How can I get better control over my tape? I already found a bug
with mt status not working on the SCSI DAT, so I have no idea
where the tape is actually at. I have RTFM'd the dump man page
and do not see any options that are apropriate. Any ideas would
be appreciated. With a 4mm tape, it is a shame to only be able to
stick 1 dump of / on it. :-(

Thanks,
Alan Ross
