That's not entirely correct.  It's not of much relevance whether the
Thinkpad initializes the keyboard to type 2 scancodes or not, since
syscons would set the ``generate PC compatible scan codes'' flag.
Anyway, the Thinkpad seems to refuse generating type 1 (old PeeCee)
scan codes at all.  So the only chance is pcvt since it can cope with
both.
