Summary: No SCSI CD
Keywords: IDE CD DOS Partition Install

I was able to install most of FreeBSD 2.0.5 from the Walnut creek CDROM
to a DOS partition using the DOS XCOPY command.
This was of course necassary because FreeBSD does not support IDE CDROM drives.
But XCOPY failed when it tried to copy files which did not have the valid
DOS 8.3 filename standard. e.g.:
		\ports\math\oleo\.mak
		\ports\net\wais\work\.com

I looked around for some of the file transfer utilities like are on the GNU
CDs but I didn't find any on the Walnut Creek CD.

I did get enough transfered to install a working system but I'm missing some
software I'd like to have.

I guess I'll just have to break down and buy a SCSI controller and CDROM drive.

Am I missing something simple?

Thanks in Advance!
