I ordered the Walnut Creek 2.0.5 CDROM and am getting a kernel panic when
installing....

I am able to boot off a floppy, configure my NE2000 card, partition and label
my SCSI HD, but once I choose to commit, it will create the new filesystem
with no problems, but it panics once it starts to copy the root filesystem off
the CDROM. Sometimes it does get past that, but then it will crash with the
same panic after about 10-20% of coping the bin files from the CDROM. I have
tried mounting the CDROM on my Sun Sparc station and tried both FTP and NFS
installs and they fail in the same way. My system consists of the following:

Pentium90mhz
Intel Triton chipset
16MB RAM
aha1542b SCSI controller
mach64 PCI video card
ne2000 compatible NIC

1GB fuji HD
Sony CDROM (CDU-8012) (from a Sparc machine)

It crashes with:

panic: page fault
fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode

It also displays a few other items...

Does anybody have any ideas on what could be going wrong and how to fix it or
what to check or anything that would help????

Thanks,

Justin England
