I have a portmaster
running (30 ports) with BSD/OS 2.0. I am running RADIUS server on
BSDI. Now there is a peculiar situation. Somehow, when I put PPP/SLIP
users in user table on portmaster the ppp connection works fine. But
when a user need to be authenticated by RADIUS (a user who is not in
port master table) I get the Invalid user message in RADIUS logfile.
This is peculiar because this does not happen for regular user-login
users. There RADIUS authenticates fine. Its just the PPP / SLIP users.

My portmaster has global value as "assigned" for assigning temporary
addresses. I assign users /etc/tcsh shell. and group as either
users or netdial. Can that be wrong? If you can know the solution
please let me know. I am teribally stuck.

I know for sure that portmaster and radius communicate as I don't have
an authentication problem with regular users who are in users file in
RADIUS.

Would appriciate your help.

Regards,
