I would be interested to hear comments on the state of pppd, as when I posted
an article some months ago (I was using 2.0R) J"org i think it was told me that
pppd was broken and that was why the generic kernel had no ppp devices
configured.

Has this now been fixed ?????

Also on an aside, I am looking at using about 16 Dialin V34 Modems using ppp,
on a Pentium 100 with 32MB Ram, which would be better for speed/reliability,
pppd/iijppp ????

pppd seems to be pretty forgiving, it doesn't need lots of config files to run
and I can spawn it using execve from the access program that i've written, I
can't quite get iijppp to do this yet, it bombs after the initial message. (any
ideas ???)

Thanks
