FreeBSD 2.0.5 will not see my Zoom V.FC internal 28.8 modem. It will see it 1
in 3 times on an old Zenith Z-select 100 (486 DX/2 66MHz) with several bad
hardware components, but won't see it at all on a 486/66 EISA, or an HP Vectra
N1. Period. I can boot with the -c option and make it see the port, but when
I do, it simply doesn't do what it's supposed to (it doesn't register a
keystroke until the next is hit, like a stack or buffer is having problems).
It does this with two identical modems on several machine, so it seems as
though it's a design problem in one or the other, or potentially a bug in
FreeBSD. I suggest the latter because I remember having the modem work
unfailingly under 2.0-Release. Any ideas?

I really don't want to have to buy a new modem to use with FreeBSD. Any help
would be appreciated. Thanks.
