Hello Jordan, hello net.

Problem solved. Thanks to 'toor@dyson.iquest.net (John S. Dyson)'.  With a
look to his makefile, I changed

    CC=gcc -O -Wall -traditional -Dconst=
to
    CC=gcc -O -Wall

Now, 'vim' works.
