Hi all.

I have been happily running 2.0 for some months now and as 2.0.5 CD
arrived a few days ago I decided to do a reinstall.

I created a boot floppy and managed to boot up fine except when it
got to the point where the colourful initial configuration screen
was susp[osed to pop up I was simply faced with a blank screen. I
thought all had simply hung so tried sever re-boots only to find the
same happening. However on flicking to vt1 and back again the
screeen apeared just fine but the curser keys had no effect on the
screen, or so it appeared. When I ficked to vt1 and back again it
appeared the screen had refreshed and showed the curser moved down a
line. It just is not interactive.

Anyway I managed to get through the complete installation by
continually flicking back and forth between screens everytime I
typed something and eventually completed the installation.

However once I booted and the system came up the same problems
persists. :-( I can type something in but it is like typing blind.
When I switch to vt1 and back it shows that whatever I typed was
entered and commands are executed. Not very efficent however.

So, my question is, has anyone else had this sort of problem or any
clues where I should be looking to fix it.

2.0 worked without a problem.

My Config:

90 Mhz Pentium PCI bus.
PCI S3 Vision864 video card with 2048 Mbytes RAM.
Philips 4CM6282 17 incsh Autoscan Colour Monitor
SP-810 SCSI Controler (NCR 53C810 PCI-SCSI)
LOCAL-BUS IDE Controler.
FreeBSD is on a 1 Gbyte SCSI disk which has been working fine,

I have removed all irrelivent cards etc to be sure there are no
conflicts.

Any help, advise or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
John
