I got a disk with many bad sectors (30 to 60 I don't know but not a WHOLE lot)

I try to format and I get "too many" only room for 126, but it does not print
126 bad ones (about 2 screens full only) so why does it bomb before
actually finding 126?

Is there a fix for this?

2.0 and back as well as NetBSD do not work AT all.

Right now I have a 660 meg ESDI that is only formatted to 80 meg, since
I can not seem to be able to make use of the rest of the disk at all.
