I saw this discussed a while back; We have a machine we are planning to 
bring up under 1.0 -- we're not using 1.0a because of some instabilities 
it (but oddly not 1.0) has with some of the software we're using.  
However, the machine has 3c509 cards, and 1.0 loses them on a warm reboot.

If anyone can recommend the best way (or simplest) to patch the 1.0a 
sources into the 1.0 distrib for the 3c509 cards, I would greatly 
appreciate it.  Mail me or post; I will post a summary.
