Okay, thanks to all who answered my last questions. Here are a few more:

1) is there a copy of netstat anywhere for 386bsd?

2) My machine can't seem to find localhost (which mail seems to use). I
have it defined in /etc/hosts, however I am also using a nameserver.
telneting to 127.0.0.1 does work however. whats up here?
