Your first system is quite similar to what I put together.  I'm
very happy with the performance.  I also got a SB16/SCSI CD combo as
2.0R only supported SCSI cds.

The video performance is very good with the Diamond DRAM - in fact, it isn't
clear how much the acceleration buys me - I don't know, but I certainly
am not doing anything fancy.  Performance in DOS games (Dark Forces,
DOOM) is good, I don't do windows as I have a mac also.

I have heard that a DX4/100 is about as fast as a P60, and there is no intel
tax.  I bought the DX2/80 on the theory that the VLB bus is faster, but
compiles seem to be compute bound and that is what seems to be the slowest.
A DX4/120 might give you the best of both worlds - these are coming out
soon, I've heard.
