I have a confession to make. I have been using Linux....
But I did buy the 2.0 CD from Walnut Creek. Now I know
that 2.0.5 is out and much improved. Over the past several
months, I installed a second IDE drive (both 420M).
I ended up with a "slice" I guess you call it (partition)
reserved for FreeBSD. However it is the 4th partition
on the drive (allowing for DOS and swap space). After
reading the 2.0 docs, I realize that this was the wrong
thing to do.

I could use fdisk and FIPS and redo the partitions, reformat,
etc. Then I could move DOS to a higher numbered partition
and install FreeBSD on the first partition. I could ftp
2.0.5 over 14.4K SLIP (and be done in time for xmas) and
see if there are more flexible install options. Or I could
post to the news group comp.unix.bsd.freebsd.misc and see
what others suggest.

Is there just some new install utility that I could ftp
to put FreeBSD on a high number partition? Should I just
bite the bullet and start over with the hard drive? Any
suggestions are welcome. I really want to give FreeBSD
a good look-see as I believe it is probably more stable
Linux with it's roots/history. I'll probably wait till
2.1 to buy another CD, however. Thanks in advance.
