I have loaded the X11 from agate in the X386 directory.

I cat * > X11.tar.Z
uncompressed and untarred the files off root.

I can see everything, and they appear to be in the correct place

ie: /usr/bin/X11 /usr/lib/X11 .....

When I startx, it complains about certain files not found, yet
I can see that the files are there.

After untarring, is there anything else to be done?

I have not yet rebuilt the kernel. Could that be the problem?

The readme files do not say anything that is helpfull. I should note that
it is not a vga card problem, because I doubt that xinit is getting that far.
