It depends on which model of the 3c503 that you have, If you have the 
3c503 8Bit.. I think that everything is set via hardware jumpers on the 
board, In the 3c503/16 the mem address i/o is set via jumpers be memory 
mode and dma mode is set from eeprom, or via software... To reset the 
eeprom you can download 3c503.exe [ a self-extracting executable DOS] 
from ftp.3com.com and use a dos boot floppy and then run the diagnostic 
program.. It will run you through a set of menus where you can set the 
s/w parameters into the eeprom.
