Perhaps his original kernel was such, but ever since it got out onto
the net, Linux has had a Chinese Army of people who have only the
faintest clue what they are doing monkeying with its internals and
patching it willy-nilly.  The code still looks fairly clear, but it
seems to suffer major upheavals without either notice or documentation,
and the #&^$ networking code is still a steaming pile of crud.
