Note that the Unix-haters handbook is intended as entertainment. It has
not been subjected to critical review and correction... for example, they
sent a review copy to Allman who marked up a number of technical errors
for them, which they apparently tossed in the trashcan. If they weren't
interested in feedback, why did they bother?

I have my own differences with Allman (he tends to trash UUCP the same way,
without paying attention to how it can be made to work just like any other
transport mechanism) but the way they treat him in the book is unreasonable.
