Apparently so.  The Winter 1995 issue of _Computing_Systems_ contained
a paper on the 4.4BSD virtual filesystem interface, with this note:

    To appear in "The Design and Implementation of the 4.4BSD
    Operating System", by Marshall Kirk McKusick, et. al., (c) 1995 by
    Addison-Wesley Publishing Company, Inc.
