I've uploaded the latest release of tracker to aminet something like
a week ago.

To those who don't know:
tracker is a module (protracker/older soundtracker only for the time being)
player that works on almost any machine: amiga (obviously) silicon graphics,
sun sparcs, PCs under Linux/FreeBsd, NeXt, hp. The only ones omitted are the Mac
and the ZX81 for obvious reasons of lack of power.

To those who know:
this is version 4.31. It should work better on many machines.
The sparc sound engine, for instance, is much more versatile than it was.
In general all sound engines are faster and easier to understand now.
ALL protracker effects are now implemented, and I haven't found yet any
problem.
tracker is available from wuarchive.wustl.edu, for instance (in
pub/aminet/misc/unix, I think) in source form right now.
Feel free to spread it far and wide (and to crosspost this message to
relevant places), but try to keep AT LEAST the documentation
and a pointer to the sources around.

Bug reports:
DON'T FORGET TO MENTION:
- the version number (4.31)
- the architecture (NeXt, Sparc, sgi...)
I'm a bit fed up with having to ask for clarifications all the time...

bug reports for older versions probably don't mean anything to me now, so
UPGRADE.

Answer through email preferably and WATCH YOUR CROSSPOSTING as I don't read
all these newsgroups.
