I think a one line addition to the default shell environment variables
was significantly less effort inducing than wading through kernel
and application sources...to each his own I spose....some of us don't
have the luxury of that much excess time. Judging from your posting
you seem to have plenty of it. Why don't YOU offer a "workable solution"
then? That would seem to make more sense than wasting typestrokes flaming
a person who offered a helping hand.

I found the solution to be OK given the nature of the problem
and the ugliness of a "proper" fix. I'm not a unix kernel hacker
and I honestly don't have time to chase the bogon down (even if
I thought I could). Posting your condescending remarks in response
to an honest offer of assistance just makes you look foolish.

I found your remarks to be completely off base and arrogant. I
would like to hope that this was just a result of you posting
before your coffee break. 1/2 :-)

sigh....
