NetBSD 1.0 on 486/66

We have about 118 users in one group in /etc/group, if we add one
more we cannot use this group anymore.

ex chgrp
           answers invalid group.

Is there a limit of users??
Or is there a maximum linelength??

I looked in O'Reilly "essential system administration"
There seems to bee no limit for BSD Unix.

Thanks in advance Juergen
