When probing ide disks -current prints:
>wd0 at wdc0 drive 0: 240MB, 895 cyl, 10 head, 55 sec, 512 bytes/sec <Conner Peri
pherals 240MB - CP30254>
>wd0: using 16-sector 16-bit pio transfers, chs addressing

I don't know if this means that it uses block mode, and i'm not able to say
if so or not looking at the sources.
