Correct me if I'm wrong, but all the current HDTV proposals except for MIT's
are lower resolution than 1280x1024.

MIT's proposal looks the most interesting, in my opinion, because it is 
display-resolution independent -- it can scale compatibly, apparently, to
ever higher resolutions.
