I'm looking for the occasional specialist. Must be very stuborn and single
minded on their specialty. Low pay and sketchy work hours.

Can use specialists in

      DNS
      CRON
      UUCP
      MAIL
      NEWS

Multiple specialties will probably not be considered. (I probably can't afford
you!)

Current DNS trouble : Names are not being resolved correctly and quite likely
the host is not set up correctly.

Current CRON trouble : None, but it seems like such a useful tool, I'd hate to
not exploit it completely, by occupying my time elsewhere.

Current MAIL trouble : Seemed to work correctly right out of the box, but may
not be configured correctly for the site.

Current NEWS trouble : There isn't any, but I know damn well as soon as I open
that particular slueth gate, my system resources will get an initial swamping.
I'm sure it's avoidable. Thats where the experts come in.

also.

I currently excute netstat -airn and take a look at the state of the PPP links.
(If there is a more efficient method, I'm always open to suggestions.)

Occassionaly, a call that is connected to ttya0 will terminate and leave the
ppp0 state UP. I've noticed that when the ppp0 is up, subsequent calls to
whatever it was linked to, will fail. Usually, it's linked to the www server.

I use the ifconfig ppp0 down from the console to drop it, and it usually works,
but not always.

From what I have seen so far, of the BSDUnix, there appears to be no end of one
liners to do all sorts of interesting series of processes. I like that.
