I'm currently living with but wishing I didn't have to two problems at
boot time:

1) I'm temporarily disconnected from the Ethernet, but don't
particularly wish to rebuild the kernel without the ep0 driver -- is
there any way to avoid sitting on my hands for 30 seconds every time I
boot while the initialisation times out?

2) As far as I can tell something in the initial probe of my Gateway
2000 keyboard during the device initialisation during the FreeBSD boot
sequence re-sets NumLock (I know this is an on-going saga), i.e. even
if it's off before then it gets set back on, so I have only a narrow
window to get it off again by hand or the keyboard is effectively dead
when it finally comes up for login.

Maybe these are both fixed/fixable only in 2...., in which case I'm
stuck, but if there are simple fixes for someone stuck in 1.5.1 I'd be
grateful to hear them.

thanks

ht
