I am trying to get pppd to automaticly dial my modem and loginto my network and start ppp.... like it says its so easy to do in the man pages...:) The problem that I am halving is that either pppd or chat is not sending anything to my modem... at this point I would be happy to see my modem reset via an "ATZ" command.. but no mater what I do I cant get it to respond... I have tried sending pppd info to it by as much one liners as I can think of such as "pppd /dev/tty01 115200 connect 'chat ATZ' and so on, as well as adding scripts to my /etc/ppp/options file... I seem to have tried every thing which looks like it should work but it doesent... if someone could tell me how to get the modem to respond by typing pppd or pppd/whatever/whatever/whatever.. I would realy apreciate it.... also if there are any other files i might need to modify like /etc/ttys or gettab or somthing.... I just want so see myself get to the modem other than halving to use kermit.. which by the way works fine to start ppp... I fell if I could at least get a rize out of my modem I could figure this problem out... Thanks in advance.... RP puga@maui.com
