Hello Peoples!

Can someone please help me out, im trtying to access ports directly under
FreeBSD 2.0R - however when i just include <machine/cpufunc.h> and start
merrily port munching, i get a Buss Error.

A Linux (heven forbid!) using person i know said that under Linux you had
to first 'free' the port from 'protection' - and i imagine that i have
to so a reasonably similar thing under FreeBSD.

If someone coupld provide me with some info on this i'd be really
grateful, as i would be getting rid of one more reason i have to boot DOS
now and then.

Oh.. and please Email the reply to me, as i rarely read news groups.

Thanx in advance.
