the only thing you measure there is the channel from the disk-cache to your
mainboard - today you may get max. only around 6 megs from the physical
disks - and as far as i remember the values i've seen here - FreeBSD get's
really close values (via scsi of course) - but 12 megs you'll never get
sustained (because the disk can't read so much physically) - t
