I suspect what will drop the price of higher resolution monitors will
be the emergence of a consumer HDTV market. Until then they are a
curio built only for a relatively small and specialized market.

It will be amusing when the day comes when we go back to those little
TV adapters (change to channel 3) just like the old Timex/Sinclair and
Atari.

Ok, maybe not quite, but ya never know (``19" Color! Cable Ready! XGA
Ready!  1280x1024! And our prices are INSANE!!!'')
