Well, it's not just the 68LC040.  NetBSD doesn't run on all 68030's...
There is a lot of custom hardware in the Macintoshes and a lot of
hardware that changes between models.  The current problem with the
Quadra 700 that I'm working on is that the SCSI driver isn't written
yet.  Writing that is lower priority for me at the moment than fixing
some of the problems on the working machines and working enough to
pay rent.

Yes.  At least for monochrome mode on several display cards.
