I just shut down bobcat.bbn.com after an uptime of:
  bobcat: {7} uptime
   2:23PM up 66 days, 22:29, 2 users, load averages: 0.19, 0.27, 0.23

It had been running happily since the day I set it up, right off
the Walnut Creek CD-ROM.

I haven't been doing anything demanding -- just FTP service, mainly,
but it has been hanging in there just fine.

I finally had to shut it down because of the large number of Zombies
and "closing" and "close wait" TCP connections, due to users on the
other end of some of the tin cans and string that make up the Internet.
It had gotten kinda slow.

Anyhow, I just thought a word of thanks was in order to all who
contributed to this ultimate piece of freeware (and all its cousins).
